"Willie" Ryan won a brand new 1939 Studebaker car at this National Checker Association (NCA) 1939 2nd 3-Move National in Tacoma, Washington.  This was a big prize considering the car weighted 2,300 pounds and sold for $720.00 back then.  There was a picture and article in American Checkerist Magazine with Ryan standing along side his new car on page 179.
